Kansas SRS, A Breakdown Within the Agency
I.F.F.O.C. has discovered that Kansas SRS (Social Rehabilitation Services) had lost a 2 year old child, (Damion Thomas), in which the State of Kansas SRS had previous signs the child was at risk, and yet failed to protect this child. Saunders (the Mother ) and her children moved from Kansas City, to Wichita, Kansas on or about July or August of 2008. SRS stated that they could not locate the children, so Kansas SRS closed the pending case on the children, due to past actions of abuse Kansas SRS already had on file. But , Kansas SRS was paying the day care provider in Wichita, Kansas $794.20 for the month of August 2008, due to Mrs. Saunders (the Mother ) was receiving SRS assistance in Wichita, Kansas, but somehow the agency lost track of these children and a death occurred , due to Kansas SRS’s negligence, to either work with interoffice communications within the state, or at the very least, track the billing to find these abused children before the situation became detrimental, as so in this child's death by abuse. This sounds like a case of too many chiefs not enough Indians to do the basic normal or background checks.
